We use a premier Twin Cities source for fine art reproduction and fine art giclée printing. Our partner specializes in museum quality giclée printing for Twin Cities area artists and art galleries. Their combination of high-resolution scan technology, giclée printing expertise, and knowledgeable staff ensure that our giclee prints will far exceed your expectations.
What is a Giclée Print?
Giclée printing is currently the highest quality standard for printing single or limited edition prints. The term “giclée” (pronounced “ZHEE-CLAY”) is a French word meaning “to spray,” and is term used for prints using fade-resistant archival pigmented inks printed on 100% acid-free archival papers.
What About Archivability?
Our Giclee prints are made with 100% archival materials, which ensures these prints to last over 150 years. They are the finest prints available on the market. Giclée prints have undergone extensive third-party fade testing. All of our prints are printed on acid-free 100% cotton rag watercolor papers. This means your prints will not yellow over time, and should not fade if correctly framed and displayed.
Benefit of Limited Edition Prints
Each limited-edition print purchased from me is signed and numbered, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity issued by GMeyer Fine Art. These giclées are printed on 100% cotton acid-free watercolor paper using Ultra-Chrome K3 pigment inks. Each edition totals 55 limited edition prints: “Collector” Limited Editions of 50 (9” x 12”) prints and “Master” Limited Editions of 50 (14” x 20”)+ 5 Artist Proofs for each.
Artist Proofs
Prints outside the regular edition that are marked with an ‘A/P’ are known as Artist Proofs. They are traditionally the property of the artist and are usually limited to an additional 5-10% of the edition size. For example, an edition of 100 prints would include 5 additional prints signed and marked, A/P 1/5 and so on. The image quality is exactly the same as in the regular edition prints.
Care of Prints
As with an original watercolor, you do not want to expose the giclée print to direct sunlight or excessive moisture. Although these prints are printed on archival paper, using the best archival inks available, we highly recommend archival framing with acid-free componets and UV glass to preserve the neutral pH environment. With proper care, these prints may be enjoyed for generations to come.
Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and Signature
All limited edition prints purchased from GMeyer Fine Art are signed, numbered and dated by the artist. They also come with a certificate of authenticity that is numbered and signed by the artist. Each edition is limited to a specific number of prints that will not exceed the stated edition print run number. Once the prints are sold to that number, they will no longer be available.
